Transportation and transit systems are key features of any major city. The lack of, or abundance of, efficient transport options affects the built environment as a whole: from carbon emissions to housing prices, from commuting times to citizen's health.

Oxford Urbanists look at efficient transportation as a key factor to building sustainable cities that are connected to their hinterland and the world beyond. At the same time, we believe that it is important to carefully analyse the fiscal burden that transit systems can pose to some urban areas.
